Perpetua MET Equity Fund
The fund is a general equity portfolio that seeks to maximise long-term capital growth. The fund’s objective is to maximise long-term returns by investing in listed domestic equities and to outperform the listed South African equity market, without assuming greater risk.
The fund is focused on stock selection as determined by an all-encompassing valuation based investment methodology in pursuit of the fund’s objective. The fund is not benchmark cognisant in its construction.
At times, the fund can therefore differ from equity funds with the same benchmark but which follow a benchmark cognisant approach. The fund’s mandate is to have a minimum of 80% of the fund’s net asset value invested in domestic equities.
Perpetua MET Balanced Fund
The fund invests in a combination of South African listed equities, bonds, property, commodities and cash. The fund may also invest in foreign assets up to a maximum of 25% of fund. The fund’s objective is to maximise long-term returns within the constraints of a prudential retirement fund investment restrictions.
The fund aims to outperform its stated benchmark, without assuming greater risk. The equity component of the fund is in pursuit of fund’s objective focused on stock selection as determined by valuation based investment methodology and is not benchmark cognisant in its constructions.
The fund does not pursue tactical asset allocation. Instead where the equity selection process offers up fewer attractive shares, then the fund seeks to increase exposure to the other asset classes, based on their absolute and relative attractiveness vs cash.
